Antonia earned her Masters degree in Art History from the University of Toronto with an emphasis on modern and contemporary art. Her art historical interests range from Postwar German art to British Modernism. However, she has a particular passion for North American Colorfield paintings, fostered during her time as a research assistant on the forthcoming Jack Bush Catalogue Raisonné. Her research has taken on a variety of different forms, from public speaking engagements at museums and universities to articles in peer-reviewed journals and art magazines, including:
Antonia is passionate about sharing art with the public through educational and cross-disciplinary learning opportunities. In this capacity, she has held managerial positions at institutions like The Kreeger Museum and The Walt Disney Family Museum, and has exposed thousands of students, educators, and underserved populations to the expressive possibilities of art-making and animation.
Highlights from her time as a museum educator include introducing young students from D.C. public schools to classical music by the acclaimed American Chamber Players and being invited to co-lead a keynote session presentation at the Fall 2016 CUE Conference.
Her strong belief in the importance of arts access fuels her ongoing work as a member of the Board of Directors at the NIAD Art Center. Serving in roles from secretary to president, Antonia supports NIAD in its mission to redefine contemporary art by creating a progressive art studio for practicing artists of all abilities.
Believing in the power of art to heal, Antonia currently holds the position of Art Curator at Stanford Children's Health. In this role, she oversees all acquisitions, installations, temporary displays, and conservation measures for a robust permanent collection of art.
Antonia co-curated her first show at The Trout Gallery as a part of her BA thesis project. Her exhibition experience continued at The Kreeger Museum where she served as the registrar for shows such as Tom Wesselmann Draws and Kentridge and Kudryashov: Against the Grain.
Her community engagement work merged with her exhibition experience when she curated the first of many Community Access Exhibitions at The Walt Disney Family Museum. Today she is particularly proud of the Fresh Starts initiative and corresponding exhibition which showcased original artwork made by students in the juvenile justice system.
